The Sunday Times magazine
I think that The Sunday Times magazine October 26th 2014 edition has an older age targert
audienceof both males and females. The magazine is structured like a newspaper as all the
articles are written in neat collums and black and white. Most of the pages are filled with writing
with the occasional pictures or sometimes a whole picture per page. Some of the articles start
with the first letter of the first word in a bold to make it stand out.
On the front of the magazine it says 'and the biggest celebrity you've never heard of' making it
direct to the audience and is being aimed at an older audience who may of never heard of YouTubers
such a Alfie Deyes.
The article called 'Glass House' has two collums which have an equal width with a picture of the same
width above it. The picture gives a visual image so the audience can then imagine what the girl may
look like also the article looks very neat and easy to read yet also plain and boring. The language of
the article is written in first person and could almost be classed as a diary entry. The article is also a
blog which appears in each Sunday Times magazine which readers may be able to relate to. The
article also used slang words such as 'snogged', 'hobo' and 'crap' suggesting that it is targetted at a
young adultauidence who may use these words. It also is targetted at a young adult audience as the
subject is of moving house and finally buying a property after so many years of renting different flats/small
houses dueto not having much money and this is what young adults like to do when they have the money.
This magazine has an advert on everyother page which are targetted at men and women. They have adverts such as John Lewis, electric shavers and furniture which will attract different genders and ages. This then means that at least one advert should attract someone when they are ficking through the magazine. Also the whole two back pages are all adverts which means they are paying for their adverts to go in the magazine creating more money for The Sunday Times industry.
